The Liberal Way

Verse

O come, all ye faithful, to the Lantern bright,

To the colours of Orange and the Yellow light!

Come sing of the doorstep, where the activists toil,

With leaflets and pledges across the damp soil.

O come, let us vote them, O come, let us vote them,

O come, let us vote them, the Liberal Way!

Verse

Sing praises for Fairness, and for Community too,

For power devolved to the many, not the few.

No system of winners that casts votes aside,

But voices counted truly, where the people decide!

O come, let us vote them, O come, let us vote them,

O come, let us vote them, the Liberal Way!

Verse

The By-Election miracle, a shock and surprise,

When the dark horse is lifted before the public eyes;

The pavement and precinct, where the hard work is done,

For every small victory beneath the low sun.

O come, let us vote them, O come, let us vote them,

O come, let us vote them, the Liberal Way!

Verse

So join the great centrists, and abandon the fray,

The bitter division that ruins the day.

For proportion and reason, we'll make a strong plea,

A Parliament balanced for all men to see.

O come, let us vote them, O come, let us vote them,

O come, let us vote them, the Liberal Way!
