Intro
Yeah...
They say time flies.
But some moments make time stand still.
December 4th, 2025.
Addis Ababa is waking up different today.
Because a King is turning twenty.
Yonas... this is your time.
Verse
Nineteen years in the rearview mirror
The vision now is getting so much clearer.
I watched you grow from a boy into a man
Now you’re walking out with a master plan.
The air is fresh, the morning sun is bright
We’re gonna celebrate this milestone right.
No more teenage worries, put that aside
You’ve got the strength, and you’ve got the stride.
Pre-chorus
Every step you take, you make us proud
That’s why I want to sing this out loud!
From the classroom to the city streets
You’re the rhythm in the family’s heartbeat!
Chorus
Melkam Lidet, Yonas Tenna!
Twenty years, look at where you are!
You’re a Management man, raising the bar
At Hope University, you’re the brightest star!
Oh, Yonas! You’re managing the dream
The captain of your soul, the leader of the team.
Happy Birthday, Son—let the blessings flow
We love to watch you grow!
Verse
Third-year student, yeah the pressure is high
But I see the focus in your eye.
You study hard while the city sleeps
Sowing the promises that your future reaps.
You’ve got the logic, you’ve got the skill
To climb the mountain and conquer the hill.
But son, don’t forget as you chase the success
Your humble heart is what we love the best.
Chorus
Melkam Lidet, Yonas Tenna!
Twenty years, look at where you are!
You’re a Management man, raising the bar
At Hope University, you’re the brightest star!
Oh, Yonas! You’re managing the dream
The captain of your soul, the leader of the team.
Happy Birthday, Son—let the blessings flow
We love to watch you grow!
Bridge
Listen, Son.
20 is a big number.
It’s the decade of building.
The decade of becoming.
I look at you, Yonas, and I don’t just see a student.
I see a leader. I see a good man.
And as your father... that’s the greatest gift you could give me.
Outro
Yonas Tenna! (Chant it!)
The Big 2-0!
Hope University, stand up!
Happy Birthday, Son.
We love you.
(Fade out with laughter and applause)
