The Light of the World is Here

Chorus

Oh, lift up your voice, let the joy break through,

The promise of old is a gift made new!

In a humble place, ‘neath a single star,

Love found a way to reach where we are.

It’s a song for the heart, it’s a song for the soul,

The grace of a Savior to make us whole.

Glory to God! Let the world proclaim,

There’s hope for us all in His holy name!

Verse

The streets were crowded and the night was cold,

But the greatest story was about to be told.

No velvet robes and no palace halls,

Just a mother’s song in the timber walls.

The King of Heaven in a bed of hay,

Turning the darkness into day.

He came to the small, He came to the least,

To invite us all to the heavenly feast.

Verse

It’s more than a story from long ago,

It’s a fire that sets our hearts aglow.

The gift He gives isn’t wrapped in gold,

But a love so vast it can’t be hold!

He walks beside us through the wind and rain,

He shares our laughter and He feels our pain.

A bridge of mercy from the sky above,

The ultimate gift is His perfect love.

Bridge

Every bell that rings, every light that shines,

Is a pointer back to the Great Design!

From the manger bed to the rising sun,

The work of love has just begun!
