Lyrics
Verse
In the year nineteen ninety-eight, I ran into some friends in an online gaming community about a distant alien threat.
The space was black as sackcloth when we formed a mighty crew,
With several fireteams running around the ships to bring our armies too.
Chorus
With an unforeseen nightmare Xenomorph, they were space bugs in our path,
When the mighty one hundred and seventy-third would pour out all our wrath.
We'd take a drop ship to the surface and evict them to the fire,
And we lost many a soldier in that battlefield in the sky.
Verse
General Punish was leading the crew to thwart the deadly race,
With Spotter, Night, and Ernest, we were ready to erase.
And Pops and Dagger came around with Skidi; they would face.
The Fighting Roughnecks of Aliens Online would cause camaraderie to bow.
Chorus
And huggers running rampant, trying to hug you full of holes.
The one seventy-third was righteous as they'd clean up all the egg-pod hive,
And head back to the ship to get another resupply.
Bridge
I write this song from memory as my mind can piece together,
And our colonial friends are wise and fight no matter what the weather.
It's been twenty-five years since we came home from that two-year service run,
But all in all, our contacts are strong because we had some fun.
