It's a Beautiful Day

Intro

It's a beautiful day (oh)

Verse

Sun split the curtains, coffee on the sill

Bare feet on the tiles, time moves soft and still

A kid laughs on the corner with a kite in his hand

The baker's humming off-key, it sounds like a band

Mailman's whistling my name, like he knows my plans

I step out slow, and the street feels like land

Pre-chorus

All the little small things line up in a row (yeah)

I inhale sunlight, let the slow wind show (let it show)

Something in the ordinary sings, sings, sings

And I follow the tune, follow the tune it brings

Chorus

It's a beautiful day, it's a beautiful day, oh-oh

It's a beautiful day, it's a beautiful day, yeah-yeah

It's a beautiful day, it's a beautiful day, oh-oh

It's a beautiful day, it's a beautiful day, la-la

Verse

You pass me laughing, tie loose, jacket undone

We trade a stranger's secret: "You look like fun"

Green leaves clap above us, shadows play pretend

The light finds a reason to be everywhere again

I carry that little warmth like change in my hand

Walking a crooked line straight to where I stand

Bridge

Put your pockets full of songs, come on, let's go (go, go)

We don't need a map, just footwork and hello (hey!)

Turn the small into the big, the hush into a cheer

Tonight we'll tell the moon how we spent the year

Chorus

It's a beautiful day, it's a beautiful day, oh-oh

It's a beautiful day, it's a beautiful day, yeah-yeah

It's a beautiful day, it's a beautiful day, oh-oh

It's a beautiful day, it's a beautiful day, la-la
