O God of Joshua

Verse

When faith steps forth into the Jordan’s tide,

The waters part before the ark of God;

No fear shall stay the soul that trusts His word,

For He who leads hath gone the way we trod.

Verse

Six days in silence round the walls they marched,

No trumpet blown, no battle cry they raised;

In patient hope the host obeyed His voice,

And walked the path where only faith is praised.

Verse

Upon the seventh day the trumpets sound,

The people shout, and mighty walls are thrown;

The Lord Himself hath fought and won the field,

His presence strong, His power made fully known.

Verse

Though tears may mark the journey He hath willed,

His faithful presence never leaves our side;

O God of Joshua, lead us home at last,

Alleluia. Amen.
