Mum is the Best

Intro

Mum is the best, mum is the best (mm-mm)

Mum is the best, mum is the best (oh-oh)

Verse

She wakes before sunrise, makes a cup just right

Puts a note on the door in my messy handwriting

Knows every scar like stories on her skin

Fixes broken plans with a grin, with a grin

She hums the same tune when the world gets loud

Turns my small disasters into something proud

Holds the map to all the places I forget

Says "you'll be alright," and I believe it yet

Pre-chorus

When the days feel heavy, she lifts the weight (lift, lift)

When the lights go crooked, she straightens fate (yeah)

Tiny hands, big courage, steady and true

I learn how to stand because she stood first too

Chorus

Mum is the best, mum is the best (mum, mum)

Mum is the best, mum is the best (oh-oh-oh)

Mum is the best, mum is the best (yeah, yeah)

Mum is the best, mum is the best

Verse

She leaves marshmallows in my coat for winter days

Sings silly names to make the worry fade away

Calls me in the middle of a quiet afternoon

Just to hear my voice and tell me something true

Her laugh's a room I can always step inside

Her stubborn love, my stubborn guide

Keeps every small receipt, every ticket stub and thread

Treasures tiny wins and the words I never said

Pre-chorus

When the road gets narrow, she finds another lane (finds it)

When I lose my rhythm, she brings the refrain (sing it)

Warm as a blanket, sharp as a truth

Mum is my mirror, my wildproof youth

Chorus

Mum is the best, mum is the best (mum, mum)

Mum is the best, mum is the best (oh-oh-oh)

Mum is the best, mum is the best (yeah, yeah)

Mum is the best, mum is the best

Bridge

I'll carry her stories like coins in my pocket (clink, clink)

I'll shout them across rooms when the world gets cocky (shout it)

If I ever forget, remind me with your hands

Teach me how to keep giving like only she understands

Ma-ma-mum, ma-ma-mum, ma-ma-mum (ma-ma)

Chorus

Mum is the best, mum is the best (mum, mum)

Mum is the best, mum is the best (oh-oh-oh)

Mum is the best, mum is the best (yeah, yeah)

Mum is the best, mum is the best
