Policy Bells

Verse

Dashing through the briefs,

In the Sunshine State,

Summer heat, strong coffee,

End-of-year debates.

Teams ring all the way,

Emails never end,

But every line we draft and sign

Is written to defend—hey!

Chorus

Policy bells, policy bells,

Shaping change today,

For every mind in Queensland,

We help light up the way—oh!

Policy bells, policy bells,

Evidence leads on,

From Brisbane to the regions wide,

We keep the system strong.

Verse

Cicadas sing outside,

Christmas comes too fast,

Budgets, frameworks, ministerials,

Lessons from the past.

Access, care, and equity,

Across the whole of QLD,

From Cape York down to the Coast,

Support’s what we believe.

Chorus

Policy bells, policy bells,

Listening with care,

Designing mental health reforms

That show Queensland’s fair—hey!

Policy bells, policy bells,

Through the heat and cheer,

A safer, stronger future

Is what we build each year.

Bridge

It’s not just words or plans we write,

Or briefs we send upstairs,

It’s real lives, real communities,

And showing that we care.

Chorus

Policy bells, policy bells,

Sunshine, sweat, and heart,

In the land of summer Christmases,

That’s where compassion starts.

Policy bells, policy bells,

As the year winds down,

Here’s to minds, to health, to hope—

Across all Queensland towns.
