Lyrics
Intro
(Oh-oh) Dad's on the run, yeah...
Verse
Little Timmy's cryin', "Dad, where's the milk?"
Keys in his pocket, out the door like silk
"Be right back, kid, just a quick lil' trip"
Corner store callin', one gallon to grip
Sun's shinin' down, world's feelin' right
But somethin' in the air, changed his appetite
No turnin' back now, feet start to roam
Leavin' the fam, findin' a new home
Chorus
Never came back, never came back
Gone for the milk, down that one-way track
Never came back, oh no, never came back
With Jimmy the pigeon, and Jo on the rack
(Never came back) Yeah, he ditched the scene
(Never came back) Livin' wild and free
Never came back, never came back
Milk run turned to a love attack!
Verse
Wanderin' the alley, feathers in the breeze
Pigeon struts up, "Name's Jimmy, if ya please"
Eyes like a hustler, wings full of charm
"Life's too short, man, drop that old farm"
They share a laugh, crack a nut or two
Jimmy's got a secret, gonna blow your view
"Met my baby last spring, she's a total thrill"
Furry, feisty, got that animal skill
Chorus
Never came back, never came back
Gone for the milk, down that one-way track
Never came back, oh no, never came back
With Jimmy the pigeon, and Jo on the rack
(Never came back) Yeah, he ditched the scene
(Never came back) Livin' wild and free
Never came back, never came back
Milk run turned to a love attack!
Verse
Enter Jo the wombat, burrow queen so tough
Snugglin' with Jimmy, yeah, that's wild enough
Dad's eyes go wide, "This beats the daily grind"
Picnics in the park, leavin' worries behind
Jimmy coos soft, Jo digs deep and true
Three musketeers now, under skies so blue
No more nine-to-five, no more "honey-do"
Milkman's a myth, but this crew's comin' through
Bridge
(Whoa-oh) What about the kid? What about the wife?
They wonder sometimes, in the dead of night
But Dad's sendin' postcards from the pigeon roost
"Found my paradise, love ya both the most"
(Hey-hey) Wings and claws, yeah, that's the life
Forget the fridge, we're cuttin' loose tonight
Chorus
Never came back, never came back
Gone for the milk, down that one-way track
Never came back, oh no, never came back
With Jimmy the pigeon, and Jo on the rack
(Never came back) Yeah, he ditched the scene
(Never came back) Livin' wild and free
Never came back, never came back
(da-da-da) Milk run turned to a love attack!
Outro
Never came back... (oh-oh)
Jimmy and Jo... (yeah yeah)
Gone for the milk... fade out black
