Backed Against the Wall

Verse

Wake up at five, eyes heavy, soul weary

The formula for Optics looking blurry and teary

Semester four looming like a shadow in the hall

West Bengal boards got me backed against the wall

They see a percentile, they don’t see the man

Trying to fit my whole life in a study plan

Blueprints and schemas, the weight of the ink

I’m standing on the edge, trying not to sink
