Lyrics
Verse
When wounds run deep, our hearts cry for payback,
The fire of revenge burning in our souls.
But in the silence of the night, I hear You whisper,
A call to lay down the sword and find peace.
Chorus
Lord, teach me forgiveness when my spirit’s breaking,
When vengeance tempts my weary heart to stray.
Like Psalm 88 in darkness, I reach for Your mercy,
Grace beyond vengeance, Your love lights my way.
Verse
In shadows of despair, I cry out Your name,
Feeling lost, abandoned, yet longing for Your hand.
Though bitterness rises, Your grace reminds me,
To forgive as You forgave, to heal and stand.
Chorus
Lord, teach me forgiveness when my spirit’s breaking,
When vengeance tempts my weary heart to stray.
Like Psalm 88 in darkness, I reach for Your mercy,
Grace beyond vengeance, Your love lights my way.
Bridge
Though I walk through the valley of sorrow and pain,
Your steadfast love surrounds me like a shield.
Help me to surrender my wrath and anger,
In Your forgiveness, only peace is revealed.
Chorus
Lord, teach me forgiveness when my spirit’s breaking,
When vengeance tempts my weary heart to stray.
Like Psalm 88 in darkness, I reach for Your mercy,
Grace beyond vengeance, Your love lights my way.
Chorus
Lord, teach me forgiveness when my spirit’s breaking,
When vengeance tempts my weary heart to stray.
Like Psalm 88 in darkness, I reach for Your mercy,
Grace beyond vengeance, Your love lights my way.
