That Joyful Rest

Verse

Well, my boots are muddy and my back is bent,

Every ounce of my get-up-and-go is spent!

I’ve been haulin' my troubles like a sack of coal,

Trying to find a way to save my weary soul.

Then I read the Good Book, and what did it say?

It said, "Put that heavy sack down today!"

Chorus

COME TO ME! if you’re tired and worn,

He’ll mend the places where your heart is torn!

Matthew Eleven-Twenty-Eight is the word,

The sweetest invitation that I ever heard!

Verse

I’m resting! In the hollow of His hand!

I’m resting! Doing the best I can!

Rest is holy!

Jesus is the key!

Chorus

I’m skipping through the valley ‘cause I’m burden-free!

Yee-haw!

Breathe in the spirit, breathe out the strife,

He’s the Living Water and the Bread of Life!

Bum-pa-lum...

He’s gonna give you that rest...

THAT JOYFUL REST!

Chorus

One more time now!

WHOO! (Loud rhythmic stomp)Jesus is the key
