Stains on the Altar

Verse

I was working at the church yesterday

And I saw the stains left where people prayed

And I realized right then, they were left there when

In brokenness a sinner was saved.

Chorus

Are the stains on the altar your tears

Have you poured out your heart to the Lord

He will listen if you come, if you’re the broken one

Are the stains on the altar your tears.

Verse

Have you gotten to the end of your pride

Are you ready to let God come inside

He has healing for you, how I wish you knew

The freedom God gives from His love.

Chorus

Are the stains on the altar your tears

Have you poured out your heart to the Lord

He will listen if you come, if you’re the broken one

Are the stains on the altar your tears.

Verse

Is it fear that… keeps you from Him

That keeps your life on a limb

Fearing faith in your life, still living in strife

Afraid to surrender to Him.

Chorus

Are the stains on the altar your tears

Have you poured out your heart to the Lord

He will listen if you come, if you’re the broken one

Are the stains on the altar your tears.

Chorus

Are the stains on the altar your tears

Have you poured out your heart to the Lord

He will listen if you come, if you’re the broken one

Are the stains on the altar your tears.
