Lyrics
Verse
To study health across the lands, we need a steady lens,
How we experience illness depends on how it bends.
We look to CPH to see how health is made,
In Cultural, Political, and Historical shade.
We look at power structures and the ways that we exist,
Within these three deep factors that the scholars must enlist.
Verse
Four major theories guide our path, we call them FICE,
To analyze the social world and health's complex device.
F is the Functionalist, restoring social roles and peace,
Interpretationist is I, where local symbols never cease.
C is the Critical, where power and wealth divide,
Ecological is E, where human and environment collide.
Chorus
How do we heal? What is the cause?
Listen to the PEN write down the cultural laws!
Personalistic agents, like a spirit or a witch,
Emotionalistic trauma, somatic symptoms in a twitch,
Naturalistic science, where the virus is the foe.
Write it with a PEN so the student will know!
Verse
Traditional care is cheap and close, but it faces a hurdle,
We track its five main weaknesses with the word HIRLD.
Hygiene problems rise, and there's an Inability to fight
The bacterial and viral threats that strike us in the night.
Risks of new infections and adverse outcomes we fear,
With a Lack of scientific standards and a Dosage unclear.
Verse
But modern science has its flaws, we call them WIFA-CU,
A sterile world of clinics that can alienate you.
Worldview mismatch means the patient and doctor disagree,
Impersonal relations bring a cold anxiety.
It Fails the holistic person, and Accessibility is low,
It's Costlier for families, and Unequal power flows.
