It Is Well My Creator

Verse

When the shadows lengthen

When the ground feels thin

In the deep where every

Echo comes from within

When the words feel heavy

And the tears don’t tell

Still my trembling spirit

Learns this line by heart to spell

Chorus

It is well

My Creator

It is well

In the ashes

In the ache

You are here

Emmanuel

Though I’m standing in the ruins

Of the stories that I held

It is well

My Creator

It is well

Verse

I hold the fraying edges

Of the plans I drew

All my bright ambitions

Coming back to You

In the cracks of failure

In the dust I fell

I discover mercy

Like a hidden

Holy well

Chorus

It is well

My Creator

It is well

In the ashes

In the ache

You are here

Emmanuel

Though I’m standing in the ruins

Of the stories that I held

It is well

My Creator

It is well

Bridge

When I cannot see the ending (oh)

When I cannot change the past

You are writing in the margins

Love that stays and love that lasts

Every breath a quiet offering

Every doubt a place You dwell

In the breaking and becoming

Teach my heart again to tell

Chorus

It is well

My Creator

It is well

In the ashes

In the ache

You are here

Emmanuel

Though I’m standing in the ruins

Of the stories that I held

It is well

My Creator

It is well

It is well

My Creator

It is well
