The name of the song is: "My 40th First Date Anniversary." A romantic poem, a sad Country tune. Intro In Arizona, forty years ago today, on May 31st, 1986, I took a lady out for our first dinner at Garcia's Mexican food. She was a decade older than I was, but age doesn't matter for a love that's contained, and it started to be wonderful in our lives. Verse One: I met this woman named Patricia many years ago in a little old church on Van Buren Street in sixty eight. She wore a lovely blue satin dress, her two children were by her side, and I was only fourteen years of age, but it was the first leg of our ride. Verse Two: But time was erased between that night, for someone else held her heart high, so I ran my teenage years ahead and forgot about that night. By the seventies, they had come and gone, and there were other girls I met. I spent time in California, Minnesota, and Oregon; I was set. Chorus: Then our time had finally come, and her heart was free at last. My life had fallen apart so that I would cast my love. Then, in 1986, we had our first Arizona date. I picked up my future wife from her Mom and was not late. Then, I took her to the restaurant, and then we drove to the mountain park, and I fell in love with Patty, and the rest of it was fate. Verse Three: As we sat on South Mountain, on a park bench near a table, we would reminisce about our history, going back through the years when we came within a few miles of each other. And three months later, I put a ring on her finger, and my heart was never happier, and our lives moved on further. Outro Verse: As the years went by, I wrote her many poems, and I sang to her with all my power, with love that made her warm. And we moved to Tennessee till the day God took her from my home, and I miss the blonde I married, but I sit here all alone. But I'll always love the girl that I had met in church one day, and someday my breath will leave me, and I'll find her somehow. Chorus: Then our time had finally come, and her heart was free at last. My life had fallen apart so that I would cast my love. Then, in 1986, we had our first Arizona date. I picked up my future wife from her Mom, and I was not late. Then I drove her to the restaurant, then we drove to the mountain park, and I fell in love with Patty, and the rest was fate.

I met this woman named Patricia many years ago in a little old church on Van Buren Street in sixty eight. She wore a lovely blue satin dress, her two children were by her side, and I was only fourteen years of age, but it was the first leg of our ride.
But time was erased between that night, for someone else held her heart high, so I ran my teenage years ahead and forgot about that night. By the seventies, they had come and gone, and there were other girls I met. I spent time in California, Minnesota, and Oregon; I was set.
Then our time had finally come, and her heart was free at last. My life had fallen apart so that I would cast my love. Then, in 1986, we had our first Arizona date. I picked up my future wife from her Mom and was not late. Then, I took her to the restaurant, and then we drove to the mountain park, and I fell in love with Patty, and the rest of it was fate.
