God Knew I Needed Ma

Verse

I was seventeen, just a boy with dreams,

Walked through your door, not knowing what love means.

We were bonded then. You to me.

Then later at Chico, outside the college gate,

I made a pinky promise, sealing our fate.

Pre-chorus

Through every season, through every test,

You showed your heart, you gave your best.

When I was far, your faith reached me —

You sent your love, you believed in me.

Chorus

God knew I needed Ma, my heart, my guiding light,

Through every storm and every lonely night.

He gave me patience wrapped in grace,

A tender soul, a strong embrace.

Yes, God knew I needed Ma — my answered prayer, my song.

Verse

You drove that Oldsmobile through miles and rain,

To show your love again and again.

From Fresno’s roads to ocean skies,

You stood beside me, you never asked why.

Pre-chorus

In every paper, in every plan,

You lifted me, made me a better man.

Our love’s not luck — it’s heaven’s call,

A pinky promise that outlasts it all.

Chorus

God knew I needed Ma, my heart, my guiding light,

Through every storm and every lonely night.

He gave me patience wrapped in grace,

A tender soul, a strong embrace.

Yes, God knew I needed Ma — my answered prayer, my song. I love you, Ma.

Bridge

Now decades later, I still stand amazed,

By her strength, her kindness, her faithful ways.

If I could live a thousand more,

I’d choose her love forevermore.

I love you, Ma.

Chorus

God knew I needed Ma — oh, what a gift divine,

Through joy and tears, her heart’s been mine.

He gave me love that never fades,

A gospel story heaven made.

Yes, God knew I needed Ma —

My blessing all along. I love you, Ma.

Outro

So I thank the Lord above,

For this woman, my forever love.

God knew… I needed Ma.

I love you, Ma.

Thank you for your love to me.
