Melech David

Verse

Started as a רועה צאן in the field,

Playing נבל, his faith was his shield.

שאול got jealous when the people would sing,

But דוד stayed humble, never challenged the king.

Out in עין גדי, hiding in caves,

He trusted in Hashem and the strength that He gave.

Chorus

מלך דוד standing tall for ישראל,

ירושלים shining while the enemies fail.

From the ארמון to the battles he’d lead,

עם ישראל remembers every powerful deed.

Verse

On הר הגלבוע שאול lost the fight,

David mourned the king through the dark night.

Never celebrated even when he got the crown,

Showed respect instead of bringing Saul down.

Then he captured ירושלים, made it strong and new,

A home for the nation where the Jews only grew.

Chorus

מלך דוד standing tall for ישראל,

ירושלים shining while the enemies fail.

From the ארמון to the battles he’d lead,

עם ישראל remembers every powerful deed.

Verse

נבל was proud and turned him away,

אביגיל stepped in and saved the day.

Warrior and poet with תהילים to write,

Trusting Hashem every day and night.

From shepherd boy to king of the land,

Following Hashem's guiding hand.

Verse

Inside the ארמון he would rule with might,

Leading ישראל and trying to do right.

Faced mistakes too, but he learned and he grew,

That’s why his story still inspires me and you.

A king with courage, heart, and faith so wide,

מלך דוד forever with ישראל by his side.

Chorus

מלך דוד standing tall for ישראל,

ירושלים shining while the enemies fail.

From the ארמון to the battles he’d lead,

עם ישראל remembers every powerful deed.

Chorus

'Cause now we got מלך דוד,

Standing strong, doing what he should.

ירושלים shining bright for all,

Leading ישראל standing tall.

From the palace to the battlefield,

עם ישראל remembers what he achieved.
