Christ's Ambassadors

Verse

Accountability is a major theme.

In Christ, the whole evaluation process has changed.

We don’t need to prove ourselves to you and others, but are glad to tell you what makes us tick.

Christ’s death (in our place, and on our behalf) is the most dramatic, constant motivator. It flips the script of our lives. Our loyalty and accountability above all else will always be to HIM.

He did the costly, necessary work of reconciliation. His death on the cross changed everything.

Chorus

Ambassadors:

How many ambassadors from your home country have you met personally? USA has a population of over 340,000,000 people. Their list of ambassadors is less than 200. The point? Ambassadors are rare, and very important.

When Paul says “We are Christ’s Ambassadors,” this is super profound!

Let it sink into our souls and bones.

Verse

“We speak for Christ when we plead, ‘Come back to God!’” 5:20.

Then he states something even more profound: “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” 5:21. Let’s forever be awestruck!

Outro

It was Paul’s profound understanding of these things that motivated his service day and night, night and day, day and night.
