My Cheerleader

Intro

(da da da, oh-oh)

Kristen, twenty-five years strong

Verse

I saw you first at the Field House lights

Football cleats on, you cheered me right

Then biology class, I couldn’t look away

Suzuki Samurai rolling your way

Cypress Hill stuck, tape deck on repeat

Toyota Tercel, windows down in the heat

All the way to Florida, spring break sun

Two wild kids just starting our run

Chorus

You’re my cheerleader, my best friend too

Soulmate in sneakers, still seeing me through

Twenty-five years and the fire ain’t gone

Laughing at the river, dancing till dawn

Carefree spirit, that smile won’t quit

Love you more now than the day we met

Verse

Shotguns at the river, fishing at the pond

Bungee in Mexico, hearts jumping strong

Nebraska to Kansas, Iowa back home

Omaha streets where our story’s grown

You raised our girls just the way I knew

Strong and sweet, every dream came true

That butt back then, yeah it made me stay

Still turning heads in the same old way

Chorus

You’re my cheerleader, my best friend too

Soulmate in sneakers, still seeing me through

Twenty-five years and the fire ain’t gone

Laughing at the river, dancing till dawn

Carefree spirit, that smile won’t quit

Love you more now than the day we met

Bridge

Through every move, every mile we drove

You cheered me on when the going got rough

Best friend forever, that’s what you are

My rock, my light, my shining star

Chorus

You’re my cheerleader, my best friend too

Soulmate in sneakers, still seeing me through

Twenty-five years and the fire ain’t gone

Laughing at the river, dancing till dawn

Carefree spirit, that smile won’t quit

Love you more now than the day we met

(oh-oh, da da da)
