Our Christmas Light

Verse

We drove so far to Michigan’s snowy lands

To find a dog with newspaper print and clumsy hands

Annabelle, a coonhound sweet but loud

With eyes so bright, a heart unbowed

Chorus

Oh Annabelle, our Christmas light

Though you break the ornaments every night

You’re more than colors or your mistakes

You bring us joy with every tail shake

Verse

Born a breeder’s reject, off colors gave her shame

But in our home, she’s got a brand new name

Hyper and clumsy, a hound’s wild chase

Annabelle’s love fills every space

Chorus

Oh Annabelle, our Christmas light

Though you break the ornaments every night

You’re more than colors or your mistakes

You bring us joy with every tail shake

Bridge

We sometimes shout, we sometimes sigh

But in her eyes, love never runs dry

This Christmas time, we see it clear

Annabelle’s heart is our greatest cheer

Chorus

Oh Annabelle, our Christmas light

Though you break the ornaments every night

You’re more than colors or your mistakes

You bring us joy with every tail shake

Chorus

Oh Annabelle, our Christmas light

Forever loved in December’s white

In every howl and every play

You make our Christmas bright today
