Under the Mistletoe

Intro

fa-la-la, fa-la-la (mm-mm, mm-mm)

soft sleigh bells, soft sleigh bells

Verse

Snow on your shoulders like a silver shawl

Your laugh breaks the cold, I forget it all

Scarves tangled, mitten hands in mine (in mine)

Footprints in a lane where the streetlamps shine

Cocoa steam and a paper crown

Carols from a shop playing our song downtown

You lean in close, whisper two words and then

The whole night folds around us like a pen

Pre-chorus

Wind tries to steal the moment, but we hold on tight

Close the gap, pull the world into our light (our light)

This little miracle, just you and I

Counting stars in pockets of December sky

Chorus

Under the mistletoe, hold me close, hold me close (hold me close)

Fa-la-la, oh-oh, don't let go (don't let go)

Under the mistletoe, your breath on my neck (on my neck)

Fa-la-la, mm-mm, stay right here — yes, yes

Under the mistletoe, hold me close, hold me close (hold me close)

Fa-la-la, oh-oh, don't let go (don't let go)

Under the mistletoe, the world falls away (falls away)

Fa-la-la, mm-mm, stay right here — stay right here

Verse

Paper snowflakes stuck to the window glass

You hum the chorus, slow, like it might last

We trade our secrets for peppermint kisses

Promise wrapped in sweaters, simple wishes

A sleigh bell rhythm in the alley where we walk

Your heartbeat says the things we don't have to talk

Streetlight halos haloing your face

Every breath between us carves out a place

Bridge

Tie a ribbon round this midnight, let's keep it tied (keep it tied)

Write our names on a comet, let it ride (let it ride)

No hurry in this hush, no need to say goodbye (no, no)

Just pull me closer, let the snowfall write our why (why)

Na-na, hey, na-na, na-na (hey)

Uh-huh, oh-oh, uh-huh (oh-oh)
