Happy First Birthday

Intro

Hey little man, hey hey (yeah)

Tiny fists, big eyes, oh-oh

One year round the sun, here we go

Ba-ba-baby, ba-ba-baby (whoo)

Verse

You taught us how to hold our breath

When you laughed and then you sneezed (ah!)

Milk moustache and sleepy mess

A map of fingerprints on knees

First roll, first crawl, first “mama” sound

Sticky hands and bedtime songs

Every small discovery spins us around

We’ve been waiting for you all along (oh)

Pre-chorus

Today we blow the little lights, yeah (blow)

Tie the ribbon on the sky (hey)

All your tiny victories in our eyes

We’ll keep them close, we’ll keep them high (yeah)

Chorus

Happy first birthday, light up the room (light up, light up)

Happy first birthday, giggle and bloom

Happy first birthday, dance on the floor (oh-oh)

Happy first birthday, we love you more

Happy first birthday, light up the room (light up, light up)

Happy first birthday, giggle and bloom

Verse

Crumbs on your shirt, cake on your chin

Balloon that bobbles like a song (na-na)

Tiny shoes that haven’t learned to run

But in our arms you already belong

Grandma's selfie, Daddy's proud grin

Tiny roar that says “I’m here!”

A year of firsts, and more to begin

We’ll clap for every tiny cheer (clap, clap)

Pre-chorus

Hold my finger, feel the steady beat (hold on)

The whole world’s new through your eyes (wow)

We’ll teach you words and colors and how to dream

But tonight we just sing, we just sing (uh-huh)

Chorus

Happy first birthday, light up the room (light up, light up)

Happy first birthday, giggle and bloom

Happy first birthday, dance on the floor (oh-oh)

Happy first birthday, we love you more

Happy first birthday, light up the room (light up, light up)

Happy first birthday, giggle and bloom

Bridge

One year of wonder, one year of you (one year)

One small heartbeat changing our view (yeah)

We’ll hold your hand through every fall (hold on)

Whisper promises in the quiet and the loud (shh, hey)

Grow brave, grow kind, grow curious and true

We’re right here, right here, right here for you (right here)

Chorus

Happy first birthday, light up the room (light up, light up)

Happy first birthday, giggle and bloom

Happy first birthday, dance on the floor (oh-oh)

Happy first birthday, we love you more

Happy first birthday, light up the room (light up, light up)

Happy first birthday, giggle and bloom
