L.A. Blonde Girl

Verse

Sunrise over Malibu, orange crush in the sky

She traded her cowboy boots for a heel that's high

Left the red dirt road for a coastal drive

In a white-hot spot where the dreamers come alive

She's got a Hollywood smile and a tan line too

Lost in the L.A. lights, yeah, what's a country boy to do?

Chorus

'Cause she's an L.A. blonde girl in a California dream

Sparkle and an attitude, wild as a moonshine stream

Got a little bit of Nashville hidden in her soul

But the 405 traffic is takin' its toll

From the honky-tonk bars to the Sunset Strip

Still got a heart of gold beneath those ruby red lips

Yeah, that L.A. blonde girl, she's a different kind of free

Verse

We used to kick up dust, share a Mason jar

Now she's sippin' fruity drinks at some ritzy bar

Swapped my old pickup for a drop-top ride

Said, "The ocean air is where I gotta abide"

I still hear her laughin' when the radio plays

A George Strait classic in these Tennessee days

Bridge

They got bright lights and palm trees, a different kinda show

But I'm wonderin' if she misses the simple life, you know?

Out here the stars are for gawkin', not navigatin' home

A little piece of my heart's out there on her own

Outro

An L.A. blonde girl, yeah, she got away

Maybe someday she'll find her way back to the bay (Nashville, that is)

Yeah, that L.A. blonde girl...

She's everything she is and everything she ain't.
