One Shot to Forgive

Intro

Look, if you had one shot, one chance to forgive

To not be able to hold grudges against people

Would you forgive, or forget

Yo

Verse

They’re shaking, heart breaking, but they won’t show grace

Got hate in their mind, see revenge in their face

But deep down, they know, they’re just lost in the race

'Cause mercy brings peace you can’t ever replace

As they try to cover up their renvenge and hate

They believe their in their rights, ready to control you

Yet you don’t let the hate show, but your heart show

Wanna fight back hard for the choices they made

Snap back to reality, there goes gravity

There goes anger pulling him down gradually

He’s so mad but he knows that it’s trapping him

If he keeps holding on, it’ll keep damaging him

Chorus

You better choose mercy in the moment

Don’t let hate take control, don’t own it

You only get one heart, don’t let it break

Forgiveness is the choice you gotta make

You better stand strong, don’t let it go

This is your chance, let your heart grow

Blessed are the merciful, it’s true

And that same grace comes back to you

Verse

His soul’s escaping from the pain he’s been facing

This world’s full of hurt, but he’s tired of chasing

Revenge and anger, yeah, it’s all been replacing

The peace in his life that he’s slowly been erasing

A normal life’s hard when you carry that weight

Every little memory turning into hate

But mercy brings freedom, yeah it opens the gate

To a life where love is stronger than fate

He’s been holding on, yeah, it’s gone too far

Every scar reminds him of who they are

But forgiving don’t mean forgetting the scar

It just means you’re stronger than where you are

Now the pressure’s high, yeah, it’s do or die

Choose to forgive or let your spirit cry

But he knows deep down as he looks to the sky Mercy’s the truth, and he can’t deny
