Principal Linda

Intro

G C G D

Verse

Well, the bell rings at Ashland City Elementary School

It's year number two, she's breaking all the rules

Not the bad kind, the funny kind, the kind that makes you smile

Linda Owen is her name and she's walking down the aisle.

Chorus

Oh, Principal Linda, she runs a tight ship

But a Sonic drink is always on her lip

She's got that denim jacket, shining in the sun

Screamin' "Kevin!" 'til the day is done!

Lost her keys, forgot her code, but she knows what's true

Her heart belongs to Jolene, and her school belongs to you!

Verse

Every morning, standing by the big glass door

She's been practicing her Spanish, maybe a little more

She smiles and waves at every single face she sees

"Buenos días, children!" floating on the breeze.

Then she walks into her office, and the panic starts to set

Where are those darn keys? She hasn't found them yet!

Bridge

Now let me tell you 'bout that one crazy day

She had her little granddaughter, but the keys wouldn't play

Locked 'em in the car, right there in the parking lot

Thank goodness for Officer Scott and the little trick he's got.

If she could remember her passwords, the whole school would applaud her, too!

Outro

Yeah, she loves that denim, and she loves that ice-cold cup

Lost the keys again, but she's never givin' up!

"Kevin! Did you see my... oh, never mind!"

(Fade out with a final, quick "Buenos Días!")
