Heart of Gold

Verse

Kent followed in the footsteps of his pa and his big brother Brad

Preaching truth and love, with the good Lord's love he had

But when it came to golf, there was one thing he couldn't claim

Brad always beat him fair and square, it was always the same

Chorus

Kent's the pastor with a heart of gold, shining bright in God's own fold

Though Brad beats him on the green, Kent's the better looking I have seen

Brotherly love and faith so strong, in Kent's heart is where they belong

Verse

On Sundays, in the pulpit high, Kent leads the flock with gentle hand

But come Saturday, on the fairways wide, Brad's the king across the land

Yet Kent wears his smile, with grace and charm, never bitter, never wrong

For in the eyes of those who see, he's the shining light, where they belong

Chorus

Kent's the pastor with a heart of gold, shining bright in God's own fold

Though Brad beats him on the green, Kent's the better looking I have seen

Brotherly love and faith so strong, in Kent's heart is where they belong

Bridge

Two brothers walking different paths, but under heaven's watchful eyes

One swings the club, one swings with faith, both under southern skies

Chorus

Kent's the pastor with a heart of gold, shining bright in God's own fold

Though Brad beats him on the green, Kent's the better looking I have seen

Brotherly love and faith so strong, in Kent's heart is where they belong

Chorus

Kent's the pastor with a heart of gold, shining bright in God's own fold

Though Brad beats him on the green, Kent's the better looking I have seen

Brotherly love and faith so strong, in Kent's heart is where they belong
