Sweet Noodles

Intro

Sweet noodles steamin', yeah, steam like a small sunrise

(chop-chop) uh-huh, alright

Verse

Couch is soft, my jersey's got a stain of ketchup and glow

TV's on, the crowd roars, but I'm right here in the slow

Two beers sweating, ring of foam on the coffee table

Chopsticks clicking, slurpin' comfort whenever I'm able

Neighbors shout, the ref blows — (ah) we don't need to move

You can keep your big plans, tonight I'm settlin' into groove

Pre-chorus

It's okay, it's okay (it's okay, it's okay)

To not romanticize the night away

It's okay, it's okay (yeah, yeah)

To love the small and let the world play

Chorus

Sweet noodles, it's okay to watch football and have two beers

Sweet noodles, it's okay to watch football and have two beers

Oh-oh, sweet noodles, it's okay to watch football and have two beers

Sweet noodles, it's okay (it's okay), sweet noodles (oh-oh), two beers (yeah)

Verse

Half-time chili dogs and a joke on the screen

My phone buzzes, but I tuck it under the dream

Puppy snores on the rug, scoreboard is a glow

I got extra soy on the side and a half-remembered show

Friends will call tomorrow, we'll say we made no plans

Tonight is homemade mercy in the palms of both my hands

Pre-chorus

It's okay, it's okay (let it be, be)

To choose the ordinary like a favorite song

It's okay, it's okay (uh-huh)

To plant your feet right where you belong

Chorus

Sweet noodles, it's okay to watch football and have two beers

Sweet noodles, it's okay to watch football and have two beers

Na-na, sweet noodles, it's okay to watch football and have two beers

Sweet noodles, it's okay (alright), sweet noodles (heyi ya), two beers (come on)

Bridge

No scoreboard tells me how to breathe (no, no)

No calendar says what I should be (whoa)

Passing plays and soft-steamed heat, I'm on a quiet team

I raise my bottle to the simple scene — yeah

(cheers) uh, na-na-na

Chorus

Sweet noodles, it's okay to watch football and have two beers

Sweet noodles, it's okay to watch football and have two beers

Sweet noodles, it's okay (it's okay), sweet noodles (oh-oh), two beers (yeah)

Sweet noodles, it's okay to watch football and have two beers
