Heart of a Boy

Verse

In the heart of a boy is the mind of a man

In the mind of a man is the heart of a boy

Verse

As a small boy, imagination always places the hero

The one that slays the dragon and saves the princess

Little boys always see their moms as the princess for a while

Verse

As a little boy grows up into a young man

He tests his limits and his bravery

Slowly that imagination begins to fade into reality

From rejection and pain, the little boy dreaming to be a hero still exists in his heart

He will always want to slay the dragon and become the hero that everyone needs

Verse

As the young man grows into the man he was supposed to be

He realizes that dragons are meant to be slayed, they are meant to be understood

The pain and hurt that he has felt through the years is to be loved and cherished

Without them he would not be the man he was guided to be

Chorus

In the heart of a boy lies the mind of a man

And then the mind of a boy lies the heart of a man

Verse

Now that he is a man, he knows that being a hero

Is the selfless nature of service to others

His wife, his children, and his family

Will always be protected by the hero in his heart, the little boy

Chorus

In the mind of this man will always be the hero of the little boy
