Jon Won't Survive

Verse

At first he lost his job he was petrified

Kept thinking he could drift through life with nothing on his side

But then he spent so many nights just wasting all his time

He grew wrong and now he’s singing this sad rhyme

Verse

And now he’s back from his defeat

He just walked in to find his brother living on elite

He should have changed his foolish ways he should have paid his dues

If he had known for just one sec he’d end up with no shoes

Chorus

Go on now Jon walk out the door

Just turn around now you’re not welcome anymore

Weren’t you the one who thought you’d always get by free

You thought luck would carry you but now you’re stuck in misery

Verse

Oh no not Jon he won’t survive

As long as he’s got no plan he’ll struggle to stay alive

He’s got all his pride to lose he’s got no rent to pay

Jon won’t survive Jon won’t survive hey hey

Verse

He tried to borrow cash he begged for more

But every friend had heard his story they all slammed the door

He thought his charm would get him through he thought his jokes would win

But now he’s standing on the street no one will let him in

Verse

And now he cries late in the night

He dreams of fancy dinners while he’s chewing day old rice

He should have learned to work a trade he should have made a plan

Instead he gambled everything and now he’s just a man

Verse

It took all the strength I had not to laugh out loud

Watching Jon pretend he’s noble standing tall and proud

But now I see him wandering streets his suitcase full of lies

And I can’t help but shake my head at all his sad goodbyes

Chorus

Go on now Jon walk out the door

Just turn around now you’re not welcome anymore

Weren’t you the one who thought you’d always get by free

You thought luck would carry you but now you’re stuck in misery

Chorus

Oh no not Jon he won’t survive

Without a dream to chase he’ll struggle just to stay alive

He’s got all his hope to lose he’s got no rent to pay

Jon won’t survive Jon won’t survive hey hey Jon won’t survive Jon won’t survive hey hey
