Glimpses

Verse

Looking back I behold glimpses of God’s grace and mercy in my life;

Especially during times of personal darkness, uncertainty, and strife.

And since my eyes and mind were opened by the Holy Ghost, I now see;

Glimpses of God’s miracles in abundance all about me.

Verse

Viewing the earth’s oceans, fields, mountains, and blue sky;

Provides me with a glimpse of the omnipotence of the Lord God Most High.

And when according to the will of God my prayers have received an answer;

I’ve partaken of a glimpse that He is Friend, Teacher, and Master.

Verse

In dreams and visions I’ve seen glimpses of His face full of truth and unquenchable light;

Giving me courage to serve Him with all my heart, mind, and might.

And following moments of solitude and meditation when I’ve heard His whispering voice;

Feelings of peace, comfort, and assurance have caused me to rejoice.

Verse

Despite my weaknesses I’ve been blessed from heaven above;

Supplying me with a glimpse of His unconditional love.

And a momentary glimpse of Christ’s sacrifice and suffering in the garden of Gethsemane;

Has instilled enduring hope that I too can overcome the enemy.

Verse

From the written Word of God I’ve glimpsed the magnificence of the Plan of Salvation;

Making it possible for me to have joy in my life’s present station.

And in the House of the Lord with my children and wife;

Through their eyes God gave me a glimpse of exaltation and eternal life.

Verse

These glimpses testify that God is near and to those who seek Him, He gives;

He rules both heaven and earth, He has risen, He lives.

And although I know that I have much more to experience and do;

Each glimpse bears personal witness that God will always see me through.
