Down By the River

Verse

Fishing with my friends, trucks on dirt roads,

Catching bait for the trip, cooler full of cold.

Radio's playing nothing but that country sound,

Down by the river, freedom all around.

Chorus

We talk about religion, politics, and girls,

No one's judging us, just country boys in our world.

Playing loud music, fishing, getting drunk,

Down by the river, living life and having fun.

Verse

Grew up fast, got married, now fathers too,

Still young at heart, doing what we love to do.

Hunting and fishing, jacked up trucks roar loud,

Dangerous and stupid, forever country proud.

Chorus

Family first, friends close, God above it all,

No one's gonna stop us, we’ll answer freedom’s call.

Love for the country, love for this way of life,

Down by the river, under stars and moonlight.

Outro

Back to that country tone where our hearts belong,

Trucks, fishing, and freedom in every song.

Down by the river where the stories grow,

Country roots forever, and now you know.
