Last Adam

Intro

(Oh Lord... slow and low)

Verse

In the garden one man fell

Carried us all down where the shadows dwell

No one asked him, still the curse took hold

Death moved in and made our story old

Verse

Then the Last Adam stepped into our frame

Took our flesh and walked the road the same

Where the first one broke it, He obeyed

Bore the weight and broke the power of the grave

Chorus

You are the new beginning, Jesus

You gathered every broken line

You retraced the path we couldn’t walk

And made our humanity shine

In Adam we were dying

In You we’re raised alive

Last Adam, life-giving Spirit

You made the whole world right

Verse

Grace moved first before we even knew

Before we prayed or turned or saw the truth

You entered death and carried us on through

Raised us up into a life brand new

Chorus

You are the new beginning, Jesus

You gathered every broken line

You retraced the path we couldn’t walk

And made our humanity shine

In Adam we were dying

In You we’re raised alive

Last Adam, life-giving Spirit

You made the whole world right

Bridge

You sanctified the cradle, the cross, the tomb

You sanctified the years we live and lose

Where Adam yielded, You stood firm and true

Now all of us are born again in You

Chorus

You are the new beginning, Jesus

You gathered every broken line

You retraced the path we couldn’t walk

And made our humanity shine

In Adam we were dying

In You we’re raised alive

Last Adam, life-giving Spirit

You made the whole world right

Outro
