High on Love

Verse

We met on a blind date in the Target parking lot

Sneaking into the preacher's house to watch TV

I was in college chasing a degree

While you chased the kid and all our dreams

Chorus

We built a home with ballpark chairs and a dry erase table

Dryer had a doorbell button, couch was second hand

Didn't matter 'cause we were living high on love

Rooted in faith and family, hand in hand

Verse

You planned a wedding on a budget in an old wooden church

Tears of happiness fell, I couldn't breathe to say the vows

Brother Sonny said son say something

Overcome with emotion, I made a few sounds

Chorus

We built a home with ballpark chairs and a dry erase table

Dryer had a doorbell button, couch was second hand

Didn't matter 'cause we were living high on love

Rooted in faith and family, hand in hand

Bridge

Now you run companies with a farm on the side

Your drive and vision shine brighter every day

Servant's heart helping those in need

Mission trips and youth in Gatlinburg, leading the way

Outro

As we grow older things will always change

But my love for you will never go away
