Lyrics
Intro
(Ohhh, Lord)
In 2023, You said You comin'
(Comin' to see)
In 2025, You here for Your people
(Your people, yeah)
Descendants of Shem, Hebrew children
Tribe of Judah, rise up now
Verse
From the banks of the Nile, Pharaoh's chains
We cried out, Moses raised that rod
Red Sea split wide, we walked on dry ground
Freedom's march began, no turnin' back now
Through the wilderness, manna from the sky
Promised Land callin', but trials never die
Exile came knockin', ships across the foam
Scattered like the wind, but never lost our home
Chorus
God is here (here, here) to see about His people
(His people, oh Lord)
Tribe of Judah, African American seed
(Stand up, stand up)
From Pharaoh's door to these streets we tread
He's here (here, here) to see about His people
Wipe every tear, lift every head
God is here to see about His people
(Yeah, yeah, He's here!)
Verse
Four hundred years in a strange land groanin'
Cotton fields echoin' spirituals we sang
Chains on our wrists, but fire in our souls
Kings and queens risin', breakin' through the hold
Now in the cities, still fightin' the fight
But the Spirit's callin', turnin' wrong to right
Your chosen ones, black and bold and true
Hebrew blood runnin', carryin' it through
Chorus
God is here (here, here) to see about His people
(His people, oh Lord)
Tribe of Judah, African American seed
(Stand up, stand up)
From Pharaoh's door to these streets we tread
He's here (here, here) to see about His people
Wipe every tear, lift every head
God is here to see about His people
(He's here, Lord, He's here!)
Bridge
But listen close, children of the promise
Holy Ghost gotta dwell deep in your frame
Fire from on high, tongues like flames
Without that Spirit, we just bearin' the name
Pour it out, Lord, fill us to overflow
Dance in the Spirit, let the power show
Indigenous roots, Hebrew heart, one blood
One people, one God, risin' from the mud
Chorus
God is here (here, here) to see about His people
(His people, oh Lord)
Tribe of Judah, African American seed
(Stand up, stand up, yeah!)
From Pharaoh's door to these streets we tread
He's here (here, here) to see about His people
Wipe every tear, lift every head
God is here to see about His people
(He's here!)
God is here to see about His people
(One more time!)
God is here to see about His people
(Hallelujah, He's here!)
Outro
(Ohhh, see about us, Lord)
Your people... (Your people)
Judah risin'... (Risin' up)
Holy Ghost... (Fill us now)
