Lyrics
Verse
When I came like a child, full of need and lament—
Understanding what mother’s kind love to me meant—
When I came as a child, my mother supplied
All the help that I needed; I was not denied.
Chorus
Jesus welcomes me too, with a smile on his face,
When I come like a child seeking mercy and grace;
When I come like a child, he will find me a place
Right up close to his heart, like my mother’s embrace.
Chorus
When I come like a child, he will find me a place
Right up close to his heart, like my mother’s embrace.
