Dr. AB Loves Peppers

Intro

(Choir) Oooh, oooh, oooh — hallelujah, yeah

(Leader) Come on now, come on now

(Choir) Amen, amen, amen

Verse

He walks into the kitchen with a Bible in one hand

And a basket of peppers in the other, Lord, he understands

Red like revival, green like new days

Yellow like the morning when the sermon starts to play

Dr. AB, he smiles, says "Taste and see"

A little heat, a little grace, sweet simplicity

Neighbors gather round, they want a piece of that joy

He shares what he grows — oh, child, he ain't coy

Pre-chorus

(Leader) When the world gets cold, when the road gets rough

(Choir) He brings the heat, yeah, he brings the love

(Leader) From the pulpit to the porch, from the garden to the table

(Choir) Dr. AB's peppers make the miracle stable

Chorus

Dr. AB loves peppers, oh, he loves peppers (yeah)

Dr. AB loves peppers, amen, amen (oh-oh)

Peppers for the weary, peppers for the weak (pep-per, pep-per)

Peppers for the singer with a tremblin' voice to speak (uh-huh)

Dr. AB loves peppers, oh, he loves peppers (hallelujah)

Dr. AB loves peppers, taste and believe (taste and believe)

Verse

He'll dice a sweet bell with a prayer on his lips

Add a dash of cayenne for the souls in the ship

Jalapeño laughter, habanero hope

Satin hands of mercy, steady as a rope

Children clap hands while the elders nod slow

Stories in the spice, testimonies grow

He says, "This flavor's a blessing, not just for the tongue"

It's a way of living, it's the song of the young

Pre-chorus

(Leader) When your cup runs low, when your feet need rest

(Choir) He hands you a pepper and a pocket full of rest

(Leader) With a wink and a prayer, with a kind, gentle shove

(Choir) Dr. AB seasons sorrow with a recipe of love

Chorus

Dr. AB loves peppers, oh, he loves peppers (oh-oh)

Dr. AB loves peppers, amen, amen (amen)

Peppers for the lonely, peppers for the bold (pep-per, pep-per)
